How To Get The Perfect Confetti Shot On Your Wedding Day

If you want beautiful photographs of your confetti moment on your wedding day, there are a few things you need to know. Keep reading for the best type of confetti to use, tips for your guests and how to make your entrance.

Here's everything you need to know about getting the perfect confetti shot.

Tip #1 - Choose your confetti wisely

For the ultimate confetti shot you want to buy paper confetti.

There are many different types of confetti. Fresh petals are pretty but they're large and fall very quickly because they're heavy, making it hard for your photographer to get great shots. Dried petals are also pretty, but often have the same problem.

Good old fashioned paper confetti is the best as it's lightweight and fluffy. As it's light, it falls slowly which is perfect for your wedding photographer, enabling them to capture plenty of shots. It's also really affordable, but when buying your paper confetti, make sure it's biodegradable.

Tip #2 - No such thing as too much

When you think you're ordering enough, order more. There is no such thing as too much confetti and better to have too much, than too little.

The best confetti shots are when guests have a big handful each. As much as cones and packets look lovely for presentation, they don't hold very much. We recommend having a big basket of confetti and have someone go round encouraging guests to take a handful.

Tip #3 - Talk to your photographer

If your confetti moment is a shot that's really important for you, tell your photographer. They'll also be able to advise you on the best location at your venue to get a great shot.

Tip #4 - Aim high!

Nominate a couple of reliable people in your wedding party to line up your guests after the ceremony, ready for the confetti moment. They need to tell your guests to aim high into the air when they throw the confetti, and to do it enthusiasm!

By throwing high into the air, it'll rain confetti and fall beautifully, rather than going directly into your faces.

Tip #5 - Look up

It's easy to look down whilst you're walking but don't do it. Keep your head up and feel that confetti falling. Your photos will be all the better for it!

Tip #6 - Enjoy the moment!

Walk slowly. It's not a race and by taking it slow you're helping your photographer get more shots. We also recommend stopping on the way for a kiss; this is a golden opportunity for your photographer to get an extra great shot.

This moment is such a fun part of your wedding day so make the most of it; enjoy every second and soak up the love you're being showered with.
